Since 2003, Germany has committed itself to the national implementation of WADA's World Anti-Doping Code (WADC).

On January 1, 2021, the new, revised WADC 2021 and with it the new National Anti-Doping Code 2021 (NADC21) came into force. For German sport, the NADC21 represents the most important, cross-sport anti-doping set of rules. The NADC21 implements the essential provisions of the WADC 2021 and forms the uniform basis for the implementation of anti-doping work in Germany.
